Anecdoted Archive from the Cold War (1993)

An interactive CD-ROM and media installation of over sixty stories, home movies, documents, propaganda, and objects, arranged across eight rooms mapped onto the floor plan of Budapest's former Communist propaganda museum, where each viewer's chance path yields a different narrative shaped by their own perspective. Slippery Traces (1995)

An interactive installation and CD-ROM where viewers navigate over 240 commercial postcards, classified into 24 categories and cross-linked through hidden keyword hotspots, weaving a different multi-linear narrative each time through the play of choice, chance, and the encoded database. The [clearing] (1994)

An interactive installation on American print media's coverage of the Bosnian crisis, where viewers probe the surface of an old hunting photograph to assemble a narrative from fragments of news data, evoking vision's origins in medical and weapons technology as an aggressive, consuming gaze. Tracing (1997)

A two-screen projection installation on opposite sides of a gallery wall, contrasting the impersonal self-descriptions of technoculture with blurred fragments of an East European letter that viewers retrace to extrude words and videos. Motion sensors let the audience's movements steer what each side reveals, staging the cultural divide between the post-Socialist East and the West in the information age. A Sense of Place (1998)

An interactive installation where an out-of-focus window-display image sharpens object by object as viewers move through the gallery, and over time a reflected street scene, either Chinese or Los Angeles, surfaces with ambient sound to place the display between Orient and Occident in an age of mass migration. Spinning Wheel (1998, reconstructed 2015)

A passage installation at Siemens' Rotunde Gallery in Munich where personnel walking between public and private spaces triggered spinning texts, roulette-style, that settled on a phrase drawn from 1992 SF Weekly personal ads. Interactive installation.

Transitional Spaces (1999)

A three-projection installation for the opening of Siemens' Munich headquarters, where people moving through the entrance and hallways trigger events: a garden that sharpens or dissolves into noise with their presence, insect-like text characters that flock and form phrases, and a wheel of personality keywords that spins to a stop. Sensing Speaking Space (2002)

An interactive "intelligent space" installation with 6-channel surround sound, where camera-tracked visitors wipe away a screen of ASCII-character noise to break through to a green field from which readable texts surface, a contemplative play of noise and order meant to evoke a Japanese garden. Anamorphic Fluid (2016)

A computer-generated animation of leaves suspended in liquid that recombine as viewers' movements disrupt the fluid, drawing on the Dadaist cut-up technique, with images bouncing off the virtual boundaries to trigger aleatory sounds of shattered glass, keys, and cymbals.
